When you move up from Kid Mode to the Teen view, nothing is lost. Your jars become accounts on Assets, to the cent. Your top goal and your keep-safe money come too, each with its own account. Everything else you logged in Kid Mode, including your other goals, is kept read-only in My kid years.

An example with real numbers

Jade had $65 in the Save jar, with a $25 keep-safe goal that was full, and $12 in Spend. In the Teen view, Assets shows Savings $40, an Emergency fund of $25 and Spending money $12, and Goals shows the Emergency fund goal. Jade's $5 weekly allowance shows on Income.

Assumptions and limits

  • My kid years is read-only. Nothing there changes your numbers today. The grown-ups on this account can still see it.
  • If no one opens My kid years for 12 months, we email you and the account owner, then delete it 30 days later. Opening it keeps it.
  • Family Bank interest stops after the switch. The Family Bank account stays.

FAQ

Did any money get lost when I moved up? No. Every jar amount came over to the cent, as your own accounts on Assets.

Can I still see what I logged in Kid Mode? Yes. My kid years keeps it all as it was, read-only. Open it from Learn or from Settings, Privacy tab. If no one opens it for 12 months, we email you and the account owner, then delete it 30 days later. Opening it keeps it.

Do I still need to log every coin? No. The Teen view tracks money like grown-ups do: plan what comes in and goes out each month and check your balances. Small buys don't need logging.
