Already have a spreadsheet? Bring it in — or build one right here.
Upload a CSV, TSV, or Excel file of your bills, assets, or debts and map its columns into Beyond Payday, or skip the file entirely and type straight into an Excel-style grid with paste, fill-down, and keyboard shortcuts. No bank connections — everything is manual entry that you review before it saves.
Eligible new accounts start with 30 days of Pro free — no credit card.
From a file
Point it at your export. You map the columns.
Upload a CSV, TSV, or Excel workbook of bills, assets, or debts. Match its columns to Beyond Payday's fields yourself, or let optional AI suggestions propose matches you review before applying — either way, nothing saves until you confirm it.

Real records, not a full migration.
A current balance or an upcoming bill imports cleanly. Transaction history, budgets, and past balances don't, because they don't mean the same thing here — prepare a table of what you want to keep going forward, then review each row before it becomes a record.

Type fast in an Excel-style grid, right inside Beyond Payday.
Bills, Debts, and Assets each have a Spreadsheet view: paste a range from Excel or Google Sheets, fill a value down a column, and move around with arrow keys and Tab. Every cell is checked against the same rules as the regular forms.

Both the importer and the spreadsheet grid work on the same three record types.
Bills
Recurring payments with an amount, a category, and a due date or frequency. An export that writes amounts as negative numbers can be flagged column by column so the whole file imports as positive figures.
Assets
Bank, investment, or property balances as of today — not a history of every balance an account has ever had. A negative value is kept as entered, since it can be a real one.
Debts
Credit cards and loans with a current balance and an interest rate — an annual rate of 5% means five percent a year, checked against the same validation the regular Add Debt form uses.
Files are processed in your browser — only the rows you confirm are sent to save, and the original file itself is never stored. A business’s own Income, Expenses, Assets, and Debts get their own spreadsheet grid on that business’s page, which is part of Pro.
Questions people ask
- Do I need Pro to import my spreadsheet or use the spreadsheet grid?
- No. Importing a file and the personal Bills, Debts, and Assets spreadsheet grid are free on every plan. Pro adds the spreadsheet grid on a business’s own Income, Expenses, Assets, and Debts pages.
- What file types can I import, and how big can they be?
- CSV, TSV, or an Excel workbook (.xlsx). CSV and TSV files up to 5 MiB, Excel up to 10 MiB compressed, and up to 10,000 rows and 100 columns either way.
- What can I import, and what gets left out?
- Bills, assets, and debts only. Income, business records, transactions, historical account balances, and Beyond Payday JSON backups are not supported by the importer — use the regular forms, or a business’s own spreadsheet view, for those.
- Does the AI column-matching pick the right columns for me automatically?
- No. It only suggests a match after you approve sharing your column headings with Anthropic, and you review and choose to apply the suggestions yourself. Manual mapping works with no AI involved at all, and every row is reviewed before anything saves.
- Will importing overwrite or duplicate my existing data?
- No. Importing only creates new records — it never edits or deletes what you already have. Rows that look like duplicates of existing records are skipped by default; you can still include one after checking it.
- Can I undo an import?
- Yes. Undo removes the records that import batch created, as long as they have not been changed or linked to something else since. Your recent imports stay listed on the Upload step so you can undo one later, even from another device.
- Can I paste data from Excel or Google Sheets into the spreadsheet grid?
- Yes. Copy a range from Excel or Google Sheets and paste it directly into the grid on Bills, Debts, or Assets — and copy back out the same way. Every cell is checked against the same rules as the regular Add/Edit forms.
- Does Beyond Payday connect to my bank to pull this data in?
- No. Beyond Payday has no bank connections. Every number comes from a file you choose to upload or from what you type yourself, and nothing is imported without you reviewing it first.
