Descriptions you can copy

One line

Beyond Payday is a household money and retirement planner that never connects to your bank.

Short

Beyond Payday is a household money and retirement planner for US families. You enter your income, bills, debts, and savings yourself — it never connects to your bank — and it shows what is left each month, your net worth, and whether your retirement plan works.

Long

Beyond Payday is a household money and retirement planner for US families. You enter your income, bills, debts, and savings yourself — it never connects to your bank — and it shows what is left each month, your net worth, and whether your retirement plan works.

It is built for the whole household: a spouse or partner can share the account, and children can be given limited access. Pro adds year-by-year retirement projections with Social Security and pensions, side-business tracking, and an AI assistant that answers questions about your own numbers.

Beyond Payday is built by Shane Stebner, a software developer in South Florida, and grew out of the spreadsheet Shane used to run the household’s money for 15 years. It is self-funded and makes money only from Pro subscriptions — no ads and no data sales. The free plan has no time limit, and Pro is $9 a month.

Brand lines

  • Know what’s left. Plan what’s next. (slogan)
  • For life after payday. And life after paychecks.

What makes it different

  • No bank linking, ever

Most budgeting apps start by asking for your bank login. Beyond Payday does not ask for it at all, so there is no bank credential to leak and no aggregator in the middle.

  • Built for the whole household

One account covers the family. A spouse or partner can share it, and children can be added with limited, per-feature access.

  • Retirement math, year by year

Pro projects savings to age 95 with Social Security at any claiming age from 62 to 70, pensions, and Monte Carlo stress tests.

  • An emergency plan for when income stops

The free SHTF plan shows how long your money would last in four situations, from high inflation to losing income for good, and lets you test cutting bills, using savings, or selling things.

  • An AI assistant, Beth

Beth answers questions about your own numbers in plain English. It can read your plan but cannot change your financial data. Pro only.

  • Works inside ChatGPT and Claude

An optional connector lets you ask ChatGPT or Claude about your own Beyond Payday plan.

  • Side businesses included

Pro tracks each business’s revenue and expenses and carries its profit or loss into household take-home pay.

Founder

Shane Stebner, founder of Beyond Payday

Shane Stebner is a software developer in South Florida who has spent most of a career building for the web.

Shane gave up on finance apps because keeping them working was a chore. The bank connections broke and needed fixing constantly. Transactions landed in odd categories, repeat purchases got flagged as subscriptions, and whatever the app got wrong had to be sorted by hand. So Shane ran the household’s money from a spreadsheet instead, for 15 years.

Beyond Payday is that spreadsheet, rebuilt as an app: no bank feed to babysit, just the numbers and the math. In Shane’s words, “It’s the spreadsheet I used for 15 years, on steroids.” Shane builds and supports it solo and still uses it at home every month.
