Beyond Payday's free plan covers the core of managing your money — income, bills, assets, debts, goals, and the What-if planner — for as long as you use it. Pro adds three things: full retirement projections, side-business tracking, and Beth, an AI assistant that knows your numbers. Pro costs $9/month or $90/year, and eligible new accounts get a free 30-day trial of it automatically.

How it works

What's free, always:

  • Income, bills, debts, assets, and net worth
  • Future balance forecast, debt payoff, goals, and the What-if planner
  • Bill savings finder and emergency planning
  • Spreadsheet import, bulk editing, and full data export
  • Browser extension, and use your Beyond Payday data inside ChatGPT or Claude
  • Bill, payday, and review email reminders
  • Partner and family sharing with per-member permissions

What Pro adds:

  • Model your retirement timeline, year by year — including Social Security at different claiming ages (62–70), 401(k)/HSA (Health Savings Account)/pension tracking, and Monte Carlo simulations, which run your plan through thousands of possible market scenarios to estimate your odds of success.
  • Track side businesses alongside personal finances — each business gets its own income, expenses, assets, and debts, kept separate from your personal numbers.
  • Beth, an AI assistant that knows your numbers — ask questions about your own finances in plain English and get answers based on your actual data.

Paystub scanning: Import paystub details from a photo. Beyond Payday saves the income entry, then opens it so you can check the numbers. Free-plan households get 3 scans to try it. Pro and trial accounts can scan whenever they need to.

The trial: eligible new accounts start on a 30-day Pro trial automatically — no credit card, no separate sign-up step. If you don't subscribe before the trial ends, your account moves to the Free plan on its own. You keep every number you entered; you just lose access to the three Pro features above. Subscribe any time during the trial and you keep every remaining day — your first payment isn't charged until the day your trial would have ended.

An example with real numbers

A household on the free plan tracks $6,200/month in income, $4,100/month in bills, and $18,500 in savings — all for $0. When they upgrade to Pro for $9/month, those same numbers now also drive a retirement projection showing whether they're on track to retire, what happens if one spouse claims Social Security at 62 instead of 67, and how a Monte Carlo simulation of possible market paths affects their odds of not running out of money.

Assumptions and limits

  • One trial per person, checked by email address. If that person has used a trial before, a new one won't start automatically, even in another family.
  • Downgrading never deletes data. If a trial lapses or you cancel, you keep everything you entered — you just lose access to Pro-only features until you subscribe again.
  • One subscription, whole family. However many family members you add, there's no per-person charge.
  • US dollars only. Prices are in USD; Beyond Payday is built for US households.
