You can subscribe to Pro, switch between monthly and yearly billing, or cancel — all from the Plan & Billing tab in Settings. A subscription is a plan you pay for on a repeating schedule. When you cancel, you keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, then your account moves to Free on its own.

Before you start

  • Only the family owner can manage billing. The Plan & Billing tab does not appear for spouse or child accounts.
  • Payments are handled by Stripe, an outside payment company. Beyond Payday never sees or stores your full card number.
  • Prices are in US dollars: Pro Monthly $9/mo, Pro Annual $90/yr.

Steps

  1. Go to Settings (opens in a new tab), then open the Plan & Billing tab.
  2. To start Pro from Free, find the Pro plan and pick the Monthly or Annual tab. Read the renewal terms shown above the button (the price, how often you're charged, and how to cancel), tick I agree to the automatic renewal terms above, then choose Start 30-Day Free Trial (if you have not used your trial) or Upgrade, and finish checkout with Stripe. If you're already on the free trial and choose Upgrade, you keep every remaining trial day — your first charge lands on the day your trial would have ended, not that day.
  3. To switch between plans while on Pro, pick the other tab and choose Switch to Annual or Switch to Monthly. Switching keeps your original price lock date and pays the lower of your locked price and the current price.
  4. To cancel, choose Downgrade to Free and confirm in the pop-up. You'll see a note that your plan is canceled at the end of your current billing period with no refund for unused time.
  5. To manage your card or view invoices through Stripe, choose Manage Subscription.

What happens after you cancel

  • Your plan is set to cancel at the end of your billing period — the month or year you already paid for. Until that date you keep every Pro feature.
  • The Plan & Billing tab shows Downgrading to Free Plan and the exact date the change happens, plus how many days are left.
  • On that date, your account switches to Free automatically. No data is deleted.
  • Changed your mind? Before the date arrives, choose Reactivate to stay on Pro and stop the downgrade.
  • If you cancel during your free trial, the same pattern applies: you keep Pro through the end of the trial, then move to Free on that date — the trial isn't cut short.
  • Canceling also ends your price lock. If you subscribe again later, you pay the price in effect at that time and a new lock starts from that payment.

Your price lock

Your Pro price is locked for 3 years from your first payment, for as long as your subscription keeps going without a break.

  • If prices go up, your locked price does not change until your lock ends. We'll email you at least 60 days before any higher price reaches you.
  • If prices go down, you get the lower price automatically at your next renewal — no need to do anything.
  • Switching between Monthly and Annual keeps your original lock date and charges you the lower of your locked price and the current price.
  • Canceling ends the lock. Subscribing again later starts a new 3-year lock at the price in effect then.
  • The lock is a promise, not a warning.

You can see your lock date on the Plan & Billing tab in Settings.

Automatic renewal

  • Pro renews automatically every month or every year, at the price shown when you subscribe, until you cancel. We tell you before any higher price reaches you (see "Your price lock").
  • Cancel online any time in Settings, on the Plan & Billing tab. You don't need to contact anyone, and cancelling stops future charges.
  • If you subscribe during your free trial, nothing is charged until the trial would have ended. The renewal terms show that date.
  • Yearly plans: about 30 days before each renewal we email the account owner the renewal date, the amount, and how to cancel. These emails are service notices and can't be turned off.

Good to know

  • No refunds. Canceling ends future charges only; time already paid for is not refunded.
  • Canceling is not the same as deleting. Downgrading keeps your account and data. To remove your account entirely, see "Delete your account."
  • Switching to Annual mid-month goes through Stripe, which handles any proration (adjusting the amount for time already used).
  • If a payment ever fails, the Plan & Billing tab shows Payment Failed with an Update Payment button so you can fix your card before losing Pro.

FAQ

How do I cancel?

On the Plan & Billing tab, choose Downgrade to Free and confirm. You keep Pro until the end of the period you already paid for, then move to Free. If you're on the free trial, Downgrade to Free works the same way — you keep Pro until the trial's end date, then move to Free on that date.

Does my subscription renew automatically?

Yes. Pro renews on its own every month or every year, depending on the plan you pick, until you cancel. Before you subscribe, the Plan & Billing tab and the Stripe checkout page show the price, how often you're charged, and how to cancel, and you tick a box to agree to automatic renewal. If you subscribe during your free trial, they also show the date your trial turns into a paid subscription.

Will I get a reminder before my yearly plan renews?

Yes. About 30 days before an annual renewal, we email the account owner the renewal date, the amount, and how to cancel online. It's a service notice, so it can't be switched off. If you cancel before the renewal date you aren't charged.

Will I get a refund if I cancel?

No. Canceling stops your next charge. Beyond Payday does not refund time you have already paid for.

What happens to my data if I cancel?

Nothing is deleted. Your account moves to Free and all your data stays. Pro-only areas lock until you subscribe again.

How do I switch between monthly and yearly?

On the Plan & Billing tab, pick the Monthly or Annual tab, then choose Switch. The change is handled through Stripe, our payment processor.

How much does Pro cost?

Pro Monthly is $9/mo. Pro Annual is $90/yr — two months free compared with paying monthly for a full year.

Will my price go up?

Your price is locked for 3 years from your first payment, as long as your subscription keeps going. If we ever raise prices, yours stays the same until your lock ends, and we email you at least 60 days before any higher price reaches you. If a price ever drops, you get the lower price at your next renewal automatically. The lock is a promise, not a warning.

Does canceling or switching plans affect my price lock?

Canceling ends your lock — if you subscribe again later, you get a new lock at the price in effect then. Switching between Monthly and Annual keeps your original lock date and gives you the lower of your locked price and the current price.
