You got an email titled New sign-in to your Beyond Payday account. Beyond Payday sends it when your account is signed in to from a location or device it hasn't seen recently. If it was you — a new phone, a new browser, or a trip — no action is needed.
Why this happens
Beyond Payday compares each sign-in with your last 20 successful sign-ins. It emails you when either of these is new:
- The location. The approximate state or region and country don't match any recent sign-in. The city is not compared.
- The device. The browser and operating system (for example, "Chrome on macOS") don't match any recent sign-in.
The email lists When, Approximate location, Device, and Method. Locations come from your internet connection, so they're approximate, and a VPN or mobile network can show a place you've never been.
Fix
If the sign-in wasn't you:
- Reset your password right away. Choose Forgot password? on the login page, or use the reset link in the email. See Reset a forgotten password. Resetting signs out your other devices.
- Go to Settings (opens in a new tab) and open the Security tab.
- Check the Login History card for other sign-ins you don't recognize.
- Turn on two-factor authentication if it's off. See Turn on two-factor authentication.
If that didn't work
If you can't sign in, or you still see sign-ins you don't recognize, contact us (opens in a new tab).
FAQ
Can I turn off new sign-in emails? No. They're security emails, so they're sent whatever your notification settings are.
Why didn't I get one on my first sign-in? Your first sign-in has nothing to compare against, so it never triggers the email.
I was traveling. Is that why I got it? Probably. A sign-in from a new state or country counts as new, even on a device you've used before.
