What a connected assistant can do depends on the access level you approved. A Read-only connection can look at your Beyond Payday data and change nothing. A Read & write connection can also add, edit, and delete individual records. Either way, it never reaches more than your own Beyond Payday account can see.
How it works
The assistant talks to Beyond Payday through a fixed set of tools. It can only do what a tool allows.
Read tools (every connection):
- Your overview and money in and out
- Bills, income, assets, debts, and goals
- Businesses, business expenses, and a business summary
- What-if plans (scenarios)
- Net worth history
- Your SHTF plan
- Save money tips
- Your profile
Write tools (Read & write connections only):
- Add, edit, and delete bills, income sources, assets, and debts
- Add, edit, and delete goals, and log a contribution to a goal
- Add and edit businesses
Every call runs through the same permission checks as the app. A child account reaches only its own data, and a family member with limited access stays limited.
Business rules the assistant follows
- Businesses: the assistant is told to ask which business you mean before writing to one, and to ask you for key details (entity type, ownership split, valuation method, tax rate) rather than guess them when creating one.
- Linked goals: a goal linked to a savings account or debt follows that record's balance. Progress is updated by editing the account, not by logging a contribution.
- Snapshots: every result says when it was produced. It is a snapshot, not a live feed.
- Estimates: financial results carry a note that figures are estimates from your own data, not advice.
Assumptions and limits
These are left out of the connector on purpose and stay app-only:
- Importing data (spreadsheets, statements)
- Bulk edit or bulk delete
- Deleting a business
- Connections, including managing AI connections themselves
- Support access grants
- Sign-in, email, password, two-factor, passkeys, billing, and account deletion
The connector also has a rate limit, so a runaway assistant can't hammer your account.
