Beth is read-only by default. An owner or spouse can let it propose changes for the whole household.
In Settings
- Open Settings (opens in a new tab).
- Under Beth, your AI assistant, find Beth: Read-only / Read & write.
- Choose Read & write. It saves right away.
From the chat
If you ask Beth to change something while it's read-only, it shows a card with the warning and a Turn on Read & write button. Tapping it turns the setting on; then ask Beth again.
Beth can't turn this on by itself. Only your tap does.
Switch back
Choose Read-only in Settings anytime. Any changes still waiting for your Confirm tap are cancelled.
FAQ
Who can turn on Read & write?
The account owner or spouse. Other members see "Ask the account owner to change this".
Does turning it on change anything right away?
No. It only lets Beth propose changes. Each one still waits for your Confirm tap.
