“How do I hide or reorder the tools in my menu?”

Keep the tools you use most easy to reach, and hide shortcuts you rarely need.

The menu has two headed sections. Everyday holds the pages you open most: The Big Picture, Income, Bills, Assets, Debts, and Goals. Planning tools holds Retirement and the tools you use now and then, such as Money in and out, What-if planner, and SHTF plan (your worst-case emergency plan).

Steps

  1. Open the sidebar. On a small screen, open the menu first.
  2. Choose Customize menu below the tools.
  3. Click a row or its switch to turn a shortcut on or off. The editor lists tools under the same two headings as the menu. Everyday has Goals. Planning tools can include Import data, Save money, Money in and out, Debt Payoff Planner, What-if planner, SHTF plan, and True Cost Calculator, depending on your access and enabled features.
  4. Click and hold a row, then drag it to change its order within its section. Dragging does not turn the shortcut on or off. On mobile, drag the handle beside a tool. The up and down buttons also work with a keyboard.
  5. Choose Save menu to apply your choices, or Cancel to discard your edits.

To return to the standard arrangement, choose Restore defaults in the editor, then Save menu. The customization control remains available even if you hide every planning shortcut.

Import data starts at the top of the Planning tools you can customize, so it is easy to find the first time. You can move or hide it like the other tools, and your choice sticks. Its access rules still apply, and Settings → Your Data also provides an import link.

Retirement stays at the top of Planning tools and is not part of this editor. Its existing retirement-planning setting and access rules control whether it appears.

Your signed-in choices follow your account. Hiding a shortcut does not delete any data or disable the feature: you can still follow a direct link to a page you have permission to use. For example, hiding True Cost Calculator here leaves the calculator and per-bill time display enabled. Its separate switch in Settings controls the feature itself.

You can also try customizing the public demo. Demo choices stay separate from your account and last for the browser session.

FAQ

Does hiding a shortcut turn off its feature?

No. It only hides the menu shortcut. Direct links still work, subject to your plan, household permissions, and feature settings.

Can I change the entry pages or Businesses and Settings?

No. Customization applies to the tools only. The Big Picture, Income, Bills, Assets, Debts, Retirement, Businesses, and Settings stay in place. Retirement heads the Planning tools section when enabled and available to you.

Can I move a tool from Planning tools to Everyday?

No. Each tool stays in its own section. You can reorder tools within a section and hide any of them.

Are my choices shared with my family?

No. They are saved for your own account. The public demo keeps separate choices for the browser session and does not change your account.
