Beth, the AI paystub scanner and AI savings tips use an AI service from Anthropic (Claude), a third party. Nothing goes to Anthropic until you allow it, and you can turn sharing off any time from the AI Data Sharing card on the Privacy tab in Settings.
What each feature sends
- Beth: your messages, plus the household financial data Beth needs to answer, such as income, bills, debts, assets and goals.
- Paystub scanning: the paystub image or PDF you upload.
- AI savings tips on Save money: your bill names and their categories.
Anthropic gets this data only to produce the answer. Its commercial API terms prohibit using it to train its models.
Steps
- Open Settings (opens in a new tab) and go to the Privacy tab.
- In AI Data Sharing, switch Allow sending my data to Anthropic for AI features off to stop sharing, or on to allow it.
Good to know
- The first time you use one of these features, it asks Allow AI to use your data? and sends nothing until you tap Allow. Not now leaves the feature unused.
- Your choice is saved to your account, so it applies on every device you sign in on. Each person in your household decides for themselves.
- With sharing off, nothing more is sent. Beth and the paystub scanner ask again before you use them. Save money still shows tips for bills it can place by name; the others get general tips, with an Allow AI tips button that asks first.
