Review your financial data

“How do I find balances and bills that may need updating?”

The dashboard helps you find personal financial data that may need a refresh. An older amount is not necessarily wrong: you can confirm it without changing it. This reminder does not connect to your bank or check balances for you.

Steps

  1. Open Dashboard (opens in a new tab). If eligible items need review, a banner appears above the summary cards.
  2. Choose Review updates, or Review my numbers if the banner is hidden, to open Review your numbers. It starts in Simple view.
  3. Check the saved amounts and review dates. Choose Update to open an item's existing editor on its page, or Still accurate to confirm it immediately without changing its amount.
  4. To review several account balances together, choose Spreadsheet in the Simple / Spreadsheet toggle. Edit Balance for changed accounts or tick Still accurate for unchanged ones.
  5. Choose Save all to save the spreadsheet changes together. If some rows have errors, correct them or choose Save N valid rows to save only the valid changes. Only edited balances and checked confirmations are submitted; looking at an account does not mark it reviewed.
  6. Income and bills keep their individual Update and Still accurate buttons in either view. Choose Simple to return to the individual review list.

Your choice stays selected while you remain on the dashboard, including when you close and reopen the modal. It is not a saved preference and does not change your view on other financial pages. The toggle appears above the items when there are account balances to review and spreadsheet mode is enabled.

Once there are no eligible items left to review, the banner disappears. To come back later, choose Remind me in a week on the banner. The compact Review my numbers action remains available when the banner is snoozed or no items need review. With no items due, the modal shows All caught up.

Working in the balance spreadsheet

The grid shows Account, Type, Balance, Still accurate, and Last reviewed. It uses the same keyboard and paste controls as the other spreadsheets in Beyond Payday and scrolls horizontally on smaller screens. It only reviews existing accounts: you cannot add or delete accounts here. Income and bills keep their full editors because they have more details to check than a single balance.

Changes are not saved as you type. Save when you are ready, or discard changes you do not want. The usual unsaved-changes prompt protects unfinished work when you leave the review or switch back to Simple, with options to save and continue or keep editing. To discard edits, keep editing and use Discard in the spreadsheet save bar. A saved local draft can be restored in the same browser for the same account and household.

If another person changes an account before you save, review the latest details and resolve the conflict before trying again. A failed save does not count as a review.

If spreadsheet mode is not enabled, only Simple is available, with Update and Still accurate buttons for every item. You can still complete the same review one item at a time.

When an item needs review

ItemTime since its last review
Cash, checking, savings, money market, and digital wallet balances30 days
Credit card balances30 days
Investment, retirement, and certificate of deposit (CD) balances90 days
Other loan balances90 days
Bills180 days
Recurring incomeMore than one calendar year

Income is deliberately reviewed less often because pay usually changes about once a year. Income does not become due for review on the one-year anniversary itself.

Only enabled, active personal items you have permission to both view and edit appear. Physical assets, expired items, business-only entries, and automatically generated items are excluded. A missing banner can mean that nothing needs review, that you have snoozed it, or that you do not have permission to review those items.

What counts as a review?

Saving a checked Still accurate cell records your confirmation; in the list, the Still accurate button records it immediately. Saving a meaningful change to an item's financial details also refreshes its review date. Changing only its name, notes, or enabled status does not count as reviewing the amount.

Review dates are shared with your household. If an item changes while you are reviewing it, check the latest details before confirming again.

Snoozing the reminder

Remind me in a week lasts seven days for your signed-in account and household across devices. It does not hide the reminder for another family member. Opening Review my numbers lets you review items during that week without cancelling the snooze. Other devices pick up the snooze when the dashboard loads or you return to it. Spreadsheet drafts remain local to the browser where you edited them.

The reminder appears on the dashboard only, so it will not follow you around other pages. It is separate from the optional email reminders.

FAQ

Do I need Pro to review my numbers?

No. The dashboard review reminder is available on every plan.

What if the saved amount has not changed?

In the balance spreadsheet, tick Still accurate and save. For an item shown in the list, choose its Still accurate button to confirm it immediately.

Does snoozing hide reminders for my spouse?

No. Remind me in a week only hides the banner for your account and household across your devices. Other family members are unaffected.

Will Beyond Payday email me about these items?

No. This reminder appears on the dashboard. Email reminders are separate options in Settings.
