Every bill has one of three frequencies: Monthly, Bi-Annually (twice a year), or Annual. Beyond Payday converts each bill to a yearly total, then divides that total into whatever view you're looking at — daily, weekly, monthly, per paycheck, and so on.
How it works
Step 1 — make it yearly:
| Frequency | Yearly total |
|---|---|
| Monthly | amount × 12 |
| Bi-Annually | amount × 2 |
| Annual | amount × 1 |
Step 2 — split it into your view:
| View | Yearly total ÷ |
|---|---|
| Daily | 365 |
| Weekly | 52 |
| Every 2 weeks | 26 |
| Twice a month | 24 |
| Monthly | 12 |
| Annual | 1 |
| Per paycheck | your pay periods per year |
When a bill is due:
- Monthly — every month on the payment day.
- Annual — once a year, in the payment month.
- Bi-Annually — in the payment month and again six months later.
- A payment day of the 29th, 30th, or 31st falls on the last day of shorter months.
An example with real numbers
A $600 car insurance bill paid Bi-Annually:
- Yearly total: $600 × 2 = $1,200
- Monthly view: $1,200 ÷ 12 = $100
- Weekly view: $1,200 ÷ 52 ≈ $23.08
If its payment month is March, it's due in March and September.
Assumptions and limits
- Weekly, quarterly, and one-time bills aren't frequency options. You can enter a weekly cost as its monthly equivalent.
- The view you pick only changes how totals are displayed, not what you entered.
- A bill with no payment day doesn't appear on due-date views.
