The Beyond Payday phone app can send push notifications. You choose what comes as a push, separately from email.
Before you start
- You need the Beyond Payday app on your phone. Push doesn't work in a web browser.
- Available on every plan, Free and Pro.
- Push settings are for the account owner and spouse. Child accounts don't get push notifications.
Steps
- In the app, go to Settings › Notifications (opens in a new tab).
- In the Push Notifications card, turn on Push notifications on this device. Your phone asks for permission the first time — tap Allow.
- Under What to send as push, turn on the ones you want:
- Account Alerts — a failed payment, a trial about to end, or a support request to view your account. On by default.
- Any of the reminders — bill due, promotional pricing, payday, quarterly estimated tax, monthly check-in, goal progress, annual checkup, the weekly What's New digest, and new blog posts. Each is off until you turn it on.
- Offers and News — occasional announcements and offers from Beyond Payday. Off unless you turn it on.
- Each switch saves right away.
Good to know
- Push and email are separate. Turning on a push doesn't turn on the matching email, and turning off an email doesn't stop the push.
- Your choices follow your account. What you pick applies to every phone where push is on. The device switch only affects the phone you're holding.
- Signing out stops pushes to that phone. Sign back in and turn push on again to get them.
- Tapping a notification opens the matching page in the app.
FAQ
Do push notifications replace my reminder emails?
No. Push and email are separate switches. A reminder can come as a push, an email, both, or neither — turning one on or off leaves the other alone.
Will a push show my balances or bill amounts?
No. Pushes show on your lock screen, so they never include dollar amounts. Open the app to see the details.
Why don't I see the Push Notifications card on the website?
Push only works in the Beyond Payday phone app. The card shows up on the website once you've turned push on in the app, so you can change what gets pushed from either place.
I turned push on but nothing arrives.
Check that your phone allows notifications for Beyond Payday (iPhone: Settings › Notifications › Beyond Payday; Android: Settings › Apps › Beyond Payday › Notifications), and that at least one item under "What to send as push" is on. Reminders only send when there's something to remind you about, like a bill due tomorrow.
