Stock options, restricted stock, ESPP and other stock compensation accounts can list each grant you received.

Steps

  1. Save the account, then open it from Assets (opens in a new tab).
  2. Under Grants, select Add grant.
  3. Choose What kind of grant? and enter Shares granted and Share price today. For options, enter Price you pay per share.
  4. Enter Grant date, Vesting starts, Months before the first shares vest, Months until fully vested and how often Shares vest.
  5. If your employer's statement shows a different vested number, enter it in Shares vested so far (optional).

How it works

Each grant shows "N of M shares vested". Nothing vests before the first-vest wait ends. After that shares vest in equal steps. Options are worth the price today minus what you pay, never below zero. All values are before tax and do not change the account value.

Good to know

  • Changing the account to a type that can't hold grants removes its grants. You are asked to confirm first, and it can't be undone.

FAQ

Is the vested value after tax?

No. It is before tax.
